Deiphago have put out Undeified, the first song from Hexessence Satan, which Hells Headbangers will release in the first half of 2027.
It runs over eight minutes, and the band are unusually direct about why that is the song they led with. "At over eight minutes long, we didn't choose this song for accessibility," they said. "We chose it because it makes a statement." What the statement is meant to show is composition: unconventional guitar parts, dissonance, and drumming that keeps moving the ground under the piece.
The album is built as seven operations, and this is the fifth of them. "This is not about Satan overthrowing God and taking his place," the band said. "It is about the complete elimination of divinity itself. No throne is inherited. The throne is abolished."
Thirty six years in, that is a sharper idea than war metal usually bothers with. The band started in Manila in 1990 and now work out of Costa Rica, and they have spent most of that time making records that sound like a collapse rather than a song, which is why a claim of development is worth testing.
Hexessence Satan will be their sixth full length.
