YOB lead eighteen names added to Desertfest London 2027, which runs from 21 to 23 May across five venues in the city.
The rooms are the story as much as the bands. The Roundhouse, the Electric Ballroom, The Underworld, The Black Heart and The Devonshire Arms run from a fifteen hundred capacity hall down to a pub back room, and a festival that books all five is putting headliners and unsigned bands in the same weekend by design.
Kylesa, Windhand and Lowen come with YOB in this wave, which sets the weight of the thing: sludge out of Savannah, Virginian doom and a London band who have spent five years making the heaviest record of any of them.
YOB themselves return to the stage in December after surgery on Mike Scheidt's left hand, so a booking five months further out is a sign the recovery is holding. Tickets for the weekend are already on sale, with the rest of the bill still to come.
