Devin Townsend has published an orchestral performance of Covered By Causes, from The Moth: The War, the concert album and film released on 6 November.

The recording documents the first performance of The Moth, which took place in the Netherlands in March 2025 with the North Netherlands Orchestra and Choir under Jukka Isakilla, plus a band Townsend assembled from long standing collaborators and newer players. Covered By Causes sits sixth in the running order, after Enter The City, and runs about eight minutes, which makes it one of the longer pieces in the first half.

The Moth has been in his head for years and is the largest thing he has attempted: orchestra, choir, heavy guitars and a narrative running through all of it, performed in one continuous evening rather than as a set of songs. The audio release follows the work from Semi-prologue and War Beyond Words through to We Don't Deserve Dogs at the end.

It is out on CD with Blu-ray and digitally. The Blu-ray carries the full staging, which for a production built this large is the format that matters.
