Devin Townsend has released a video for "War Beyond Words (Live In Groningen)", the first piece made public from The Moth (The War-Live in Groningen).
The recording documents the premiere of The Moth played in full on 27 and 28 March 2025 with the North Netherlands Orchestra and Choir, conducted by Jukka Isakilla. Darby Todd, Mike Keneally and James Leach played, Anneke van Giersbergen and Lynn Wu sang, and Steve Vai is credited as co writer on "Intermission".
Until now that performance was buried inside the deluxe artbook edition, which is to say it existed but most people could not buy it on its own. The standalone edition was dated for 6 November and arrives as a CD and Blu ray digipak as well as digital audio.
"War Beyond Words" is a reasonable choice to lead with, since it moves from a single string line to full orchestra and choir inside one song, and an orchestra is the part of this record a listener cannot simply assume.
