Devourer have filmed "Astral Attrition" in an abandoned ironworks at Jädraås, and in the same announcement set their first ever concert for 3 April 2027.

John Falk started the band in Sandviken in 2002 and has carried it ever since, with five albums and no live shows at all. Sanna Falk came in on bass in 2019 and took over the vocals in 2023, and this song is the first in the band's history that John did not write. "Astral Attrition is the first Devourer song I didn't write," he said. "Sanna wrote all the riffs; I worked out the guitar parts and handled the production."

A drummer and a second guitarist have joined for the live preparations, which is what makes April possible. "We now have a drummer and a second guitarist," John said, "and Sanna and I are looking forward to rehearsing with a full band and finally bringing Devourer to the stage."

The song is the fifth finished for the next album, a sixth is written, and he hopes the record lands in the first half of 2027. The last one, The Wicked Ones, came out in 2024. Vald played the guest solos, and the clip, shot on 6 October by the two of them, borrows reworked passages from David Miller's Lux Ferre.
