Dieth have parted ways with David Ellefson and taken on Tobias Cristiansson in his place. The band have also changed labels, from Napalm Records to Fireflash, and will release a single called Pound Of Flesh on 16 October.

Ellefson was the name on the door. Dieth was formed in 2022 around him, the former Megadeth bassist, with Guilherme Miranda on guitar and vocals and Michal Lysejko on drums, and that is how every announcement about the band since has read. Replacing him with Cristiansson is a different proposition entirely: Grave, Necrophobic and Dismember is a Swedish death metal line that says more about where the music is going than about who is famous.

Miranda calls him a longtime friend, says his history speaks for itself and that he fits what the band are building. He says nothing at all about why Ellefson is gone, and nor does the announcement.

The label move is the other half. To Hell And Back, the 2023 debut, came out on Napalm. The second album, still untitled and undated, goes to Fireflash. Pound Of Flesh arrives with a video on 16 October, and Miranda calls it one of the most brutal things they have recorded.
