Dischordia have released A Howling Light through Transcending Obscurity Records.

The name has always been the manifesto. This is a band from Oklahoma City who write death metal out of intervals that do not resolve, where the riff you expect to land arrives a semitone off and stays there, and three people make considerably more noise than three people should.

What has changed over the last few records is control. The early material sounded like a band throwing everything at a wall to see what stuck to the dissonance. The newer songs put the unpleasant parts exactly where they do the most damage and leave space around them, which is harder and far more effective.

Transcending Obscurity have been the right home for that: a label whose roster is largely made of bands nobody else quite knew where to file, pressed in editions elaborate enough to embarrass a major.

Oklahoma City is not a scene anybody tracks, which has probably helped. The song is streaming now.
