Dragony have released "I Have the Power", a cover of the title song from the 1985 He-Man and She-Ra film The Secret of the Sword.
This is not a novelty for them. Siegfried Samer, who sings and founded the band, has been open about the Masters of the Universe cartoons for years, and the Viennese band's third album is called Masters of the Multiverse as a nod to them. A film adaptation arrived this year, so the cover is the band collecting on a joke they set up a decade ago.
It also fills a gap. Hic Svnt Dracaenas came out in 2024 and the follow-up is still being written, after a Japanese tour supporting Twilight Force and a European run with Ensiferum earlier this year.
The next album will be the first to feature Maria Nesh as a second singer alongside Samer, which for a band twenty years into symphonic power metal is a bigger change than a cover version.
