Dungeon Serpent have put out "Tranquil Sleep of the Dead, Endless Seas Aflame", the third thing taken off Lamentations of the Shadowkingdoms before Profound Lore release it on 30 October.
Six tracks with titles that long means a record built in long pieces, and the Vancouver project has worked that way since the first single off it five years after the debut. World of Sorrows came out in 2021 and nothing followed until this year.
Three previews from a six song album is most of it, which is a choice a one man melodic death metal project can make where a band with a press cycle cannot: there is nothing to hold back for a radio single.
Two and a half weeks separate this song from the album. Damian Herring mixed the record, which we wrote about when the first single appeared, and the sound on the previews so far has been cleaner than the debut without losing the weight it had.
