Dynazty have put out The Mission, the first song from Dark Arts, which is their first album for Napalm Records and is dated 5 March 2027.
Nils Molin sings it, as he has since 2011, and as he also does in Amaranthe. The song is modern power metal written to be remembered rather than admired, which is the register this band have worked in since 2008 and the reason they keep turning up on bills above their own draw.
One of those bills is next month. Dynazty support Accept at the Alcatraz in Milan on 2 December, part of the German band's fiftieth anniversary run. A fifty year old act choosing an opener is a form of endorsement that costs the headliner nothing and means a good deal to the band standing on first.
The album title is the other signal. Dark Arts is the first record under a new label after a long run elsewhere, and a first single released sixteen months before the album is a label settling in rather than a band in a hurry.
