Earthbong have filmed "Bug", the opening track of Salutations to the Cultivators, out since 23 October through TLD Records on CD, vinyl and digital.

Four songs make up the album and the shortest of them, "Harvester", runs five minutes twelve. "Bug" takes ten minutes twenty six, "Third Eye" eight twenty five, and "Herbal Saints" closes it at fifteen minutes three. Forty minutes, four ideas, which is the arithmetic this genre runs on.

Choosing the ten minute opener as the single is the honest move. A band working at these tempos cannot cut a three minute edit without lying about what the record is, and anyone who makes it through "Bug" knows exactly whether the rest is for them.

This is the fourth album in a catalogue of seven releases, all of it in the same seam of German sludge where the riff arrives slowly and then stays.

TLD Records are putting it out on CD, vinyl and digital together, which for a record of this length means the vinyl is the format the band actually care about. Four songs across two sides is exactly what the format was built for.
