Eldfödd release The Night Belongs To The Dead today through Edged Circle Productions, and the whole thing is up to hear.

The band only formed in Stockholm last year, which normally means a demo and a long wait. Not here: an EP in 2025, two singles, and now a ten track album. The reason is the names on it. Victor Brandt, Perra Karlsson, Sebastian Ramstedt and Erik Sahlström have spent decades in the Swedish scene, and a band assembled from that does not need to learn how to make a record.

What they have made is unmistakably Swedish death metal, with the song titles pointing where the tradition always pointed. Matriphagy, The Tomb Becomes A Womb, Let The Serpent Swallow Them Whole. The Tritone Enigma is the one that gives the joke away.

Edged Circle have been quietly putting out some of the best of this for years, and a full album stream on release day is how a label that trusts a record behaves. Ten tracks, opening with an intro, closing on the title.
