Ereboros have released Dissonant Soul, the fourth song from their first album to come out as a single. From Oblivion to the Grave arrives on 30 October, self-released, four years after the band formed in Rio de Janeiro.

The release pattern is worth noting on a debut. In the Depths of Misery, Progenies of the Unseen, At the Gallows of Doom and now Dissonant Soul have all gone out separately this year, which means four of the ten songs are public before the album exists. For a band with no label behind it that is the whole promotional budget: one song at a time, each with a video.

The ten tracks are From Oblivion to The Grave, Distorted Man-made Concept, The Agony of Existence, Salute to Disorder, Dissonant Soul, Nocturnal Paranoia, One Last Pulse, In The Depths of Misery, Progenies of the Unseen and At The Gallows of Doom.

How it sounds: death metal with the riffs built low and the tempo kept moving, closer to the Brazilian lineage it comes out of than to anything Floridian, and the production is dry enough that the bass is audible as a separate instrument.

Before this there were four singles in 2022 and a self-titled EP in 2023. The line-up is Thiago Barbosa on vocals and guitars, Paulo Doc on bass and Victor Mendonça on drums. Thrashocore carried the announcement with the genre and the country attached.
