Eshtadur have put out Thunderground with a video, from In Darkness All Shadows Gone, their fifth album, which Rockshots Records releases on 2 October. A European tour follows in November and December.
The album follows a crow through existence, the void and whatever comes after recognising yourself, and Thunderground is the moment the bird wakes up. Thunder in this story is a celestial thing that tears the illusion open, with vultures standing in the rain and Jupiter's arms going off across the sky. Jorg August's words treat the encounter as terrifying and necessary in the same breath, and the song is fast and direct to match.
August wrote the music, the lyrics and the orchestral parts and produced the record. The Colombians recorded at RockStar Studios Colombia and put the orchestra down at Batuta's Theater in Manizales. Tomasz Zalewski mixed and mastered, with Chris Clancy on two tracks, and Valesia Obscura painted the cover.
