Eternity's End have put out a video for Sword In The Storm, the second song from Titanblood, which Scarlet Records releases on 6 November.
The subject is Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone and Stormbringer, the sword that drinks the souls of whoever it kills, including the people its owner loves. Metal has been borrowing Elric for decades, and the band have picked the part of the cycle that is actually bleak rather than the part that is heroic: a sword that kills the people its owner loves is not a hero's prop.
The arrangement follows suit. They describe it opening on a blast beat with symphonic black metal in the background before it turns into high speed technical riffing, a large chorus and a guitar against keyboard solo duel they trace to early Children Of Bodom.
Titanblood is the first album with Mike Livas singing, after Silent Winter and Bloodorn. Behind him are Christian Muenzner and Justin Hombach on guitars, Jimmy Pitts on keyboards, Linus Klausenitzer on bass and Hannes Grossmann on drums, and Grossmann produced, mixed and mastered the record at Mordor Sound Studios.
