Extermination Day have released "Fill the Swamp", the second song from Forty Miles of Bad Road, which arrives on 27 November through Argonauta Records.
The band are open about the target. They say the song is directed at a member of the current United States administration's cabinet, and the title does the rest of the explaining. Hardcore and doom have both carried that kind of writing since the early 1980s and neither has ever treated it as a departure.
What they play is harder to label than to describe. The label reaches for Trouble and The Obsessed for the weight, Poison Idea for the speed, Blind era Corrosion of Conformity for the crossover and Die Kreuzen for the unpredictability, and the band themselves just call it Hoss Rock.
They have been going since 2020 out of Minneapolis, with one album and seven releases behind them. This one comes on CD, on coloured vinyl and digitally.
