Extermination Dismemberment release "Enslaver Of The Continents" through Unique Leader on Thursday, and the film for it went up a day ahead of the song.
Slamming brutal death metal out of Belarus is a narrow description and an accurate one. Four albums in, the band have kept the same arrangement of parts: Arseniy Kovalchuk writing the guitar, Vladislav Martirosov on the lowest vocal the genre permits, and nothing in the production softened on the way out.
Unique Leader is the right address for it. The label has been the clearing house for this specific music for two decades, which is why a band from Minsk ends up on the same roster as half of Florida.
Eleven releases including four albums, and no sign of the band trying to move outward into anything more respectable. The title is the whole aesthetic in four words.
Releasing the film a day before the song itself is the small oddity here. It gives the people who follow the label a reason to come back twice in two days, which for a genre that lives almost entirely on streaming playlists is a cheap and sensible trick.
