Feline Melinda have put out "More Than Ever" and "Morning Dew", the first two songs from Duets II, an EP that arrived on 2 October through Diotima Records and that the band present as their fortieth anniversary record.
Both are duets with Doris Albenberger, who sang on the 2019 EP Duets and whose pop voice is the whole reason these versions exist. "More Than Ever" has a lyric written by Rob Irbiz for the birth of drummer Chris Platzer's daughter, which the band say turned into something wider on the way to the studio. It has a lyric video.
"Morning Dew" is the older one. It first appeared in 2008 on the album of the same name and comes back cut to a little over two minutes, closer to a radio edit than a remake, with the two voices trading the verses.
Two of the songs on the EP were re recorded from scratch; three come from the sessions around Seven, the 2024 album. Marco Ober and Sascha Paeth handled the recording and the mix. For a band that has been going since the late eighties and still releases without a label, an anniversary record made of its own back catalogue is a reasonable way to mark the date.
