Fimir have released "Old Master" with a video, the second song from Cosmic Heavy Doom, out on 27 November through Argonauta Records on CD and digital.

Naming an album after the thing it is saves everybody an argument. Cosmic doom is a real sub current, built out of the slowest part of Sabbath and pointed at space rather than at the graveyard, and the Finnish band are declaring their allegiance on the cover rather than waiting for someone else to do it.

It follows "Pain of the World", which went out first, and the pair of them are what exists of the record in public so far.

Argonauta is the Italian label that has quietly collected most of the European doom and stoner underground over the last fifteen years, which is the right address for this. The album will be their second full length among five releases.

Finland produces more doom than its population should allow, and most of it goes out through labels in Italy, Germany or Greece rather than at home. A CD and digital release in late November, with no vinyl announced, is the modest shape that arrangement usually takes.
