Flor de Fumo have released ...May the Flower Be Smoked..., their first album, independently and in full.
Eight songs: "Wytch Doll", "Six Wizards", "H.E.L.L. (Hash, Electric, Lucifer, Loud)", "Mr. Evil", "Green Pine", "Over the Moon", "Bluesbreaker" and "Smoking Flowers Radio". The third of those spells out its own acronym in the title, which saves everyone the trouble.
Brazil has had a stoner and doom scene for two decades that almost never reaches European or American ears, partly because the records come out exactly like this one: no label, no distribution, a Bandcamp page and whatever the band can do themselves. The music travels when somebody abroad happens to find it.
Psychedelic stoner doom is a crowded register and what separates the records in it is usually the guitar tone and whether the band can hold a groove past the five minute mark. This is their fourth release and the first full length.
