Forbidden have released "Burning the Lungs of Earth", the first song from a self-titled album due on 23 October through BLKIIBLK. It is their first full-length since 2010.
Guitarist Craig Locicero described the track and what it is about in the same breath. "'Burning the Lungs of Earth' is a fast-paced thrasher with complex riffs, soaring melodic vocals, thunderous drums, and bass. The song mirrors the effects of mankind's natural and unnatural disasters, coupled with the planetary cycle we find ourselves in, decimating our ecosystems. Corporations, politicians, and greed are suffocating the planet."
He quoted the lyric that carries it: "First, the smoke and seas will rise; the naive will remain blind. The world turns, the sun still shines as we slowly choke and die."
The song arrives with a video. Forbidden were the youngest of the Bay Area thrash bands when they started, and sixteen years is a long time between records even by the standards of that scene.
