Forgotten Tales have dated their new album. Other Times comes out on 12 February 2027 through Rockshots Records, and A Thousand Lies is out from it now with a video.

The band from Quebec signed to Rockshots earlier this autumn, sixteen years after their last record, and this is what that deal was for. They describe the album as a return to their melodic power metal roots with a more direct approach built on the guitars, which is the standard way of saying the keyboards have been moved back.

Ten songs, and the subject list is unusually specific for the genre: inner conflict, anxiety, insomnia, loyalty, loss, misinformation, missed opportunities. Power metal usually reaches for dragons at this point. What holds it together, they say, is resilience and the passing of time, which is where the title comes from.

The furniture is still the furniture: fast riffs, double kick, layered choirs, melodies that arrive immediately, with some progressive writing underneath. Sixteen years away is long enough that a band could have come back as something else, and they have not.
