Forgotten Tales have signed to Rockshots Records and have a comeback album, Other Times, booked for 2027. The first piece of it, A Thousand Lies, is online now.
The arithmetic is the story. Their last album, We Shall See the Light, came out in 2010, which makes the gap sixteen years, and Metal Storm describes the hiatus itself as fifteen. The band formed in Quebec City in 1999 and made three records in nine years before stopping.
What has come back is closer to the original than most reunions manage. Sonia Pineault, who sang on all three albums and left in 2012, returned in 2024. Martin Desharnais and Marco Lavoie are on guitars. The rhythm section is new, with Cedric Langlais on bass and Xavier Gonthier Blouin on drums, both since 2025, which is the shape of a band that has decided to tour rather than one assembling a studio project.
Rockshots is an Italian label with a catalogue built largely on power and symphonic metal from outside the obvious markets, and a Canadian five piece with three albums and a sixteen year absence is a reasonable thing for it to bet on. An album promised for 2027 off a single released in 2026 suggests the bet is on the long run rather than this quarter.
