Foul Body Autopsy release a two track EP, Between The Worlds We Made, on 27 November, on limited vinyl and digitally. Tom Reynolds has run the project alone from Leicester since 2010.
After an EP built on history and witch trials, this one turns inward. "The new EP is about absence, grief and heartbreak, but more broadly about the future becoming uncertain," he said.
He is unusually plain about when the words were written. "The lyrics were written in the days after everything went wrong, before everything had been processed, before the dust had settled, and before I knew what to do next, trying to move forward while being completely out of hope." Most people wait until they can shape the thing. He did not.
With the announcement he also says he has been diagnosed with essential tremor, a condition that makes the hands shake, which for a guitarist is not a footnote.
The title track leads with tight riffs and a wide chorus, and The Language Of Ruins follows the same balance of melody and weight. Russ Russell produced and mixed, Stephen Kerrison mastered, and both have worked on this project before.
