Future Palace open the Deep Blue tour on 29 September at Klub Hydrozagadka in Warsaw without their drummer. Johannes Fruchtenicht will miss at least the first six shows, and Silas Fischer of Annisokay takes over behind the kit for those dates.
Fruchtenicht explained the decision himself. He and his wife have a four year old son and a six month old daughter, and a medical situation developed at home while the band were in the United States. “Juggling being a parent and a touring musician isn't only incredibly difficult, but it also takes a toll on your family at home,” he wrote. Since the band returned the situation has worsened. “Because it is completely unclear which way this will go, I won't be able to play at least the first six shows of our Deep Blue Tour,” he said. “If all goes well, I'll be back behind the kit in Hamburg.”
The band thanked Fischer for stepping in and asked their audience to send Fruchtenicht their support. The VIP meetings booked for the affected shows go ahead with Maria Lessing and Manuel Kohlert. After Warsaw the run reaches On The Rocks in Helsinki on 1 October and Tanssisali Lutakko in Jyvaskyla on 2 October. The tour takes its name from the opening track of Resurgence, the German band's fourth album, released on 31 July through Arising Empire.
