Gammacide put Toxic Mercenaries out on CD on 11 September. The vinyl arrives on 30 October through NoLifeTilMetal Records, and the gap between the two formats is the detail worth reading.

Seven weeks is how a small label does this now. Pressing plants still quote months, so a vinyl edition is ordered once the CD has shown whether anyone wants it, rather than alongside it. For a band whose last full-length of new material was more than thirty five years ago, that caution is the sane way round.

The number is the story in any case. More than thirty five years between full-lengths of new material is longer than most of the bands who name Gammacide as an influence have existed. Texas thrash was never the scene with the industry attention behind it, and a gap that size usually means no second act at all.

NoLifeTilMetal is the kind of operation that picks those records up: catalogue reissues and comebacks, sold mostly direct. A limited pressing, pre-ordered, is the whole business model, and it is why a record like this exists on vinyl at all.
