Gloryhammer have released "Warriors of Auchtermuchty", the single that sets up the showdown on their fifth album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, out 16 October through Napalm Records.
The song is set in the hometown of Zargothrax, the band's standing antagonist, and follows the fighters who swear allegiance to their emperor. Choirs, a sing-along chorus, and the usual refusal to be embarrassed by any of it.
The band's own comment on the track was brief. "Gloryhammer has been awarded the world record for using the word 'Auchtermuchty' the most times in a song. We hope you like saying it as much as we do."
The album is a direct sequel to Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards from 2015 and continues the saga of the McFife dynasty. It follows Angus McFife V, Crown Prince of Fife, last heard from on the 2022 single "Fly Away", across spacetime.
