Godflesh have released "Master and Slave", the opening track of Decay, which Relapse Records puts out on 25 September. It is the penultimate album the band will make, and that is a decision rather than a circumstance.
"Music, for me, is rarely complete," Justin K. Broadrick said, "but it has to reach a point where enough is enough. Creatively, there has to be self-discipline. One has to end it."
The circumstance exists too. Broadrick had hernia surgery this year, which has taken away his ability to scream live, and he recorded every vocal on the album before the operation.
