German thrash band Godslave have released a self titled album through Metalville, and marked it with a lyric video for "The Road Not Taken". It is their first record in five years, after Positive Aggressive in 2021.
The gap was not an idle one. The five piece went through a difficult stretch, which they had already put on record themselves in the documentary Hinter der Kulisse, and found their way back through Champions, a tribute album that sent them to their own roots.
They describe the new one as the most collective thing they have made, built out of shared discussion and ideas brought to the room unfinished rather than parts written alone and delivered. Godslave have been at this since Bound by Chains in 2008, and the tribute record that brought them back, Champions, came out last year.
