Gory Blister have signed to Dusktone for an eighth studio album due in 2027. The technical death metal band formed in 1991 between Taranto and Milan and last released a record, Reborn from Hatred, in 2023.

It is the second time in a week the same label has appeared in this column. Dusktone signed Necromass yesterday for a record due in the middle of 2027, and it put out Iskald's new album this week. A label building a 2027 release schedule out of Italian and Norwegian bands with thirty year histories is making a specific bet: that the audience for this material is old enough to still buy it.

Seven albums in thirty five years is roughly one every five, which is a pace a label can plan around. What it cannot plan around is how many of them sell, and that is the part the contract does not say.
