Grave Digger have released Legends Never Die, the second song from Faces Of Pain, with an animated video.
Animation is the sensible choice for a band at this point in a career. Four decades in, nobody needs another video of five men in a warehouse, and a drawn one can carry the sort of imagery the lyrics have always gone for without anybody having to stand in a field at night.
The title is the kind of line this band has been writing since the 1980s and means exactly what it says. Grave Digger have outlasted most of the German scene they came out of by never once trying to be anything other than what they are.
The album is the twenty fourth and arrives on 15 January, with the cover again by Uwe Jarling.
Reaper Entertainment are putting it out, and the animation studio RMIT made the video, which keeps the band off the screen entirely.
Two songs out of twenty four albums tells you how little this group have ever needed to explain themselves. The audience knows what a Grave Digger record sounds like before a note of it is public, and buys it anyway.
