Green Lung have put out an animated video for Ozymandias, from Necropolitan, and they are calling it a Halloween present rather than a single.
Illustrator Richard Wells drew it and Joseph Brett animated it, the same pairing that has given this band a visual identity nobody else in their part of the genre has bothered to build.
"Ozymandias is one of our favourite songs from this album to play in the rehearsal room," Tom Templar said, "and we can't wait to perform it on tour in December." On the lyric he is blunter: the Shelley poem it takes its name from is about the futility of building empires, and he reckons the words could not be more current.
That fits the album around it. Necropolitan is named after the seven Victorian garden cemeteries ringing London, and the record is about death and nature outlasting whatever people put up to impress each other. Nuclear Blast released it, the band tour in December, and this is the free thing you get in between.
