Grób have released Szczury Wrocławia, from Ikonoklasta, which Putrid Cult put out on 6 November. It is their first album.

The name is Polish for grave, and the band's own account of why they exist is the best thing in the announcement. Two people, Necromaniak on guitars and drums and Death Dealer on vocals, started it in 2019 with one aim: record some rotten but catchy metal, put it on a cassette, and find an underground label to release it.

Seven years later the cassette has turned into a live album, a split, singles and now a full-length, which is roughly the opposite of the trajectory most studio projects take.

What they play sits between death metal and thrash, and the band describe it as drawing on the stranger corners of both. Everything is sung in Polish, titles included, which has never stopped a band from Wrocław being heard outside it.
