The film of the last Black Sabbath show gets its world premiere on Wednesday 14 October at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by the Osbourne family, with a purple carpet rather than a red one.

Tickets are limited and fifty per cent of the price of each one goes to homeless charities in Los Angeles. That is an unusually high share for a premiere screening, and it is the detail the family chose to lead with.

What the film holds is one night. Villa Park in Birmingham, 5 July last year, Ozzy Osbourne on stage with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time in a long while and the last time at all, seventeen days before he died. Mercury Studios produced it and Trafalgar Releasing is putting it into cinemas worldwide from 28 October as an event run rather than a general release.

A premiere two weeks ahead of that is the sort of thing a studio does when it expects the room to be full of people who were there, or who wish they had been.
