Hanging Garden release Dream Death on Friday, 18 September, through Transcending Obscurity Records. It is the second album from the New York progressive death metal project, following The God That Made Them Bow in 2024. The Finnish band of the same name is a different group.
Hanging Garden is the work of one person. Dylan Cruz wrote, performed, mixed and mastered all of Dream Death. On the debut he had help with the drums; this time no other musician is credited.
The album has seven songs, and four of them came out ahead of it: "Arete", "Ondine", "Dreamwoven" and "Tears of Lustful, Secret Desire", the last premiered by No Clean Singing in July. The label files the record under progressive and technical death metal, and names Death, early Sentenced and Opeth among its reference points.
