HateSphere have put a film to "Mouth Filled With Barbed Wire", the third song from Guillotine, which Scarlet Records released last Friday. It is their twelfth album.
Twelve albums into a career that began in the late nineties, the Danes have outlasted most of the bands they came up with, and the reason is audible in who still records them. Tue Madsen produced, mixed and mastered this one at Antfarm, as he has done for much of their catalogue and for Heaven Shall Burn, The Haunted and Dark Tranquillity before them.
The song is about refusing every form of imposed authority, social or religious, and the band frame it as something closer to relief than anger: the argument is that choosing the fight is itself the liberation.
The vinyl run tells you the size of the audience precisely. Three hundred and fifty copies in orange marble, a hundred and fifty in white, and nothing else pressed.
