Heimdalls Wacht have put out "Runes To Heal, Weapons To Cure" with a lyric video. It comes from Sphärenschänder: Echoes Of An Old Belief, Part I, the ninth album, which Talheim Records release on 31 October.

Part I is doing work in that title. The band have built records in halves before, and a German black metal album that announces itself as the first of two is usually telling you the material was written as one piece and split for length rather than for a sequel.

The band come out of the Westphalian scene and have been at this since the late nineties, with lyrics in German and in the regional dialect, which narrows the audience and is the whole point: the subject is a specific landscape and the belief system that used to sit on top of it, not a generic northern one.

Two weeks out from the record, this is the song they chose to put in front of it.
