Hellripper have released Who the Fuck is Hellripper?, a covers EP of three songs, through Century Media.
Two of them were already out: the pair of Zeke covers, "Let's Get Drugs" and "Mainline", which went out on a flexi disc first. The third is the surprise. "If You Found This It's Probably Too Late" is an Arctic Monkeys B side, and James McBain has put it through the same blackened speed metal treatment as the rest.
Covering Zeke makes immediate sense for a project built on speed and brevity. Covering an Arctic Monkeys album track does not, until you hear what the song is: a slow, mean thing from the band's early period that has more in common with Hellripper than the choice suggests.
McBain plays everything himself and is still touring Coronach, the album he released earlier this year, which makes a covers EP a diversion rather than a stopgap.
