Hippie Death Cult have released Grit, Blood & Bone with a video, through Metal Blade.

The credits are the story. Eddie Brnabic plays guitar, and he also engineered, mixed, mastered and produced the track, at a room called The Treehouse in Oregon City. He then co-edited the video. Laura Phillips, who sings and plays bass, wrote all the lyrics, and the music is credited to the band. Harry Silvers plays drums and percussion. Eddy Vasquez shot it.

A three piece doing almost all of its own production is not unusual at this level. Doing it while on a label the size of Metal Blade is less common, and it tends to show: the records come out sounding like the room rather than like the studio someone else booked.

The band formed in Eugene in 2015 and are now in Portland. Metal Archives files them under stoner, doom metal and rock, and their last album was Helichrysum in 2023, followed last year by a live record and an EP of covers.
