Hostilia have released The Curse of Khamun today through Hammerheart Records, their second album and their second in two years.
William and Albert Lindeblad started the band in Gothenburg in 2021, and the speed since then is the story: a debut last year, stages shared with The Haunted and Dismember, and now nine more songs. They said during the campaign that they would not fix the playing, and the production bears that out: recorded and produced by the band, mixed by Per Stalberg, deliberately rough in the way 1980s thrash records were rough.
The subjects wander further than the genre usually allows, from war and the fear of the unknown to Italian horror films and the curse attached to Tutankhamun's tomb.
The cover was hand painted by Karl-Oskar Hansson, who tattoos for a living and drums in The Dahmers, and the vinyl comes in black and in a transparent yellow pressing limited to two hundred.
