Ian Hill did not play Judas Priest's London show on Monday night. The band said he has “a badly damaged tendon in his left arm”, and Davey Rimmer, who plays bass in Uriah Heep, took his place at the Eventim Apollo.
Hill founded the band and is the only member who has been in it without interruption since 1970, which is what makes a single missed night worth writing down at all. The statement is short and does not say how long he will be out: “our good friend Davey Rimmer (Uriah Heep) will be playing with us so the show will go on. Ian sends his grateful appreciation to our fans for your caring and understanding.”
