Ignea have released "Harmony Manufactured", the last song before Monumental, with Britta Görtz of Hiraes singing alongside Helle Bohdanova.
Two voices of that kind on one song is a harder trick than a guest spot usually is. Görtz sings from the melodic death metal side and has lately been standing in at the front of Heaven Shall Burn, Bohdanova writes from somewhere between symphonic and progressive metal, and the band have set them against each other rather than in sequence.
The album is built around nostalgia and takes its look from architecture, which is the sort of concept that sinks a record unless the songs carry it. This one is described as fast and heavy, and it is the fourth piece of the album made public.
Ignea have worked out of Ukraine throughout, which has shaped both the subject matter and the practicalities of every record they have made since 2022, and Monumental arrives this week.
