In Vain have released Eyes of the Underdog with a lyric video, the third and last song to come off Architects of Mayhem before the album arrives.
The detail worth noticing is which three. Spit on the Dead, Winds of Fire and now this one are the first three tracks of the record, in order, which means the band have effectively put the opening quarter of the album out in public and left everything after it alone.
That is a confident way to run a campaign and an unusual one. Most bands scatter their singles across a tracklist to suggest range. Doing it in sequence says the opening is the argument, and whoever is still listening by track four has already decided.
The band work out of Madrid, which is not where anybody expects this kind of thing to come from, and the lyric video is the plainest possible presentation: words on a screen and a song underneath them.
