In Vain have a seventh album coming. Architects of Mayhem goes out on 5 November through Fighter Records, on CD and digitally, and the first song from it is Spit on the Dead.

At three minutes fifteen it is the shortest thing on the record, and it is also the opener, which tells you what the band want heard first. Eleven tracks run forty six minutes and fifty eight seconds: after it come Winds of Fire, Eyes of the Underdog, Jack Deliverance, Kingdom in the Sun, Fortune Teller, Queen of the Swarm, After the Storm at six minutes twelve, Nimue, Freedom Fighter and Coming Home, which closes at six minutes eight.

The band come from Rivas-Vaciamadrid, outside Madrid, and have been going since 2004 with Teodoro Seoane on drums and Daniel Cordon on vocals and guitar throughout. Julio Abadia joined on guitar in 2022 and Manel Avrillon on bass in 2024. Metal Archives files them as heavy, thrash and power metal, in that order, and Metalshock Italia leads with power, which is the sort of disagreement that tells you where a band actually sits.

Six albums came before, from Of Gods and Men in 2009 to Back to Nowhere in 2024, and Fighter Records has carried the recent ones.
