Invincia have released Tonight We Ride, the third song from Echoes From The Past, which Escape Music put out on 25 September.
This is the quick one. Unite and the title track covered the melodic side first, and the band have held the gallop back until now: sharp riffs, a rhythm that does not sit still, and vocal lines written to be shouted back.
The reference points are not hidden and do not need to be. The speed and the attack come from Judas Priest, the theatrical streak from Savatage, and the melodies from Helloween, which is a Finnish band writing the heavy metal they grew up on without pretending it is anything else.
The lyric is a fantasy ride through battlefields and dark forests, and it is the better half of this genre's tradition: a story you can picture, carried at a tempo that makes picturing it feel urgent.
