Iron Savior have released "Climbing Higher" from Deathbringer, which Frontiers Music Srl put out on 13 November, and Piet Sielck has described it as "probably the most commercial song on the album".

Bands do not usually say that about their own single. Sielck says it and then defends the song anyway: "Even though the song is commercial, it's full of honest emotions blended together with catchy melodies, I love this song!"

He can afford the candour, because the record around it is not a pop move. Deathbringer goes back to the concept format the band built their name on. Two hundred years after the last war, the insectoid Shadows return, their immortal Queen having kept what is left of her species inside a digital hive aboard a vessel fed by the life of entire worlds.

Elsewhere the album runs through melodic speed metal on "Light In The Dark", a fast title track and the heavier "The Creature's Tale", with a version of Judas Priest's "Fever" among the bonus material. Sielck wrote, produced, mixed and mastered it himself at Powerhouse Studio, in the Hamburg band's thirtieth year.
