Jasmeno have put out the first part of a video for Synesthesia Imperialis, the song that opens Assemblage of Cinematic Idioms, with Yusaf Parvez of Dodheimsgard on vocals and a guitar solo from Marek Depa.

The project belongs to Slawomir Nietupski, who started it in 2017 on keyboards, synthesizers and programming, and whose first three records sat between progressive rock and melodic electronica. This one moved somewhere else: six pieces, close to fifty minutes, written around a virtual symphony orchestra and taking the sculpture of Wladyslaw Hasior as its starting point, with words by the poet Izabela Turska-Kamrowska.

What makes the record worth noticing is the company. Guitarist Michal Grall of Unblessed Divine and bassist Artur Olkowicz play on it, Brian Gawaski sings, and the guest list runs through people from Patriarkh, Morgoth, Thorns, Dodheimsgard, Armagedon, Yattering and Millenium. That is most of two scenes, Polish and Norwegian, on one independent release.

Tangled Records put it out on 11 September physically and on 21 September everywhere else. Nietupski also drew the sleeve in watercolour, which fits a record whose whole argument is that the orchestra is a studio instrument.
