Kalt Vindur have released a video for "In Silence", from The Void Of Time, their fourth album, out on 27 November through The Circle Music.
The band formed in Dukla, in the far south of Poland, in 2015, and call what they do Subcarpathian black metal. Naming a sound after a range of hills is the kind of thing that is either marketing or meant, and in a genre where everything else is borrowed from Norway it is at least their own.
Svart, who writes the music and leads the band, describes the song as a test of how far melody and brutality can sit together. "It never allows the listener a moment of boredom, delivering a powerful dose of pure, aggressive energy throughout," he said.
It is their third record for The Circle Music to follow Magna Mater in 2024, after Delusions in 2017 and the second album in 2020. Artur Szydlo wrote all the music, Wojciech Kozub the words, and Krzysztof Kokosinski mixed and mastered it.
