Kekal have released "Deception Station", the first song from Kanata, an album whose details the band say will follow in the coming weeks.

Jeff Arwadi recorded, mixed and mastered it at Ideation Station, which is how every Kekal record has been made since the band stopped having members. They formed in Jakarta in the nineties, went through black metal, industrial and a great deal else, and since 2009 have worked as a collective with no fixed line-up, the former members contributing as they please.

That arrangement has produced more albums than most bands with a settled line-up manage, and it is the reason a Kekal release never sounds quite like the last one.

Nothing has been said about a label or a date for Kanata, beyond a promise that details follow in the coming weeks. A band that has outlived its own line-up by nearly twenty years can afford to announce a record in the order it chooses.
