Silvertomb have released "Graves In The Sky", their first new song in seven years and the second single from The Interpretation Of Nightmares, out 13 November through SPV.
Kenny Hickey, who sings and plays guitar, was direct about where the song came from. "'Graves In The Sky' was a piece that was written from acoustic guitar and piano, a different creative approach for the band that yielded a new texture for the music, blending acoustic guitar, strings and distorted guitar along with piano. I felt I was coming close to death at the time of writing this song and the lyrics deal with that reality."
The band is assembled from people who have been in the room for a good deal of American heavy music. Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly both played in Type O Negative and later in Danzig. They are joined by Joe James of Agnostic Front and Hank Hell of Sheer Terror, with Aaron Joos on guitar and keyboards.
The album runs eight songs, opening with "Brain Matter / No God" and closing with "When Will You Learn?". It ends a hiatus that began after the band's debut.
